Zedd’s buoyant production soon makes an appearance and intertwines with the vocals to make for a colorful performance. Despite the ramifications of COVID-19, the clever music video outsmarted social distance restrictions and made for another medium of collaboration between the two artists. Captured using Photo Booth, iMessage and the screen recording feature, viewers get a glimpse of how Thompson’s rainy day saw a bit more sun going from a breakup with her ex to creating “FUNNY” with Zedd on a video call. The video has already been viewed over 2 million times and counting after being uploaded on YouTube just over a month ago.

Although she is only 19, Thompson made her introduction to the world 9 years ago. At just age 10, she started uploading covers of her favorite songs on YouTube. Since then, her account has accumulated over 630 million views and 3.5 million subscribers in addition to 3.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Thompson’s résumé also includes a number of chart-ranking features as well as international platinum and gold plaques, making her a well-seasoned artist in the industry.
