Watch: Healy, Public Library Commute Release Single "Back In Time" with Visualizer

By Will Mossa

With an album on the way, Healy-- with a little help from Public Library Commute-- has blessed us with another sneak peak of what’s to come in the near future on a new single titled “Back in Time.” Back with another lofi guitar riff, immaculate vibes, soothing vocals with lyrics that put you in a different world, this collaboration born out of creativity sparks a fire of a laid back and breezy track.

The video is accompanied by a somewhat strange visualizer, as the camera just zooms in and out on a person with a tin foil balloon as a head as the song progresses. The simplistic idea behind it and calming nature based background suits the song and its feelings. PLC comes out first on the track with beautiful and soothing singing, while Healy puts his talents on his verse with clever rhyme schemes and word play. At the end of the track, a static noise and beat slowdown occurs leading into a second verse by Healy that tunnels the song into its unfortunate end. Final words of the track being in a monologue type fashion with the hard hitting words that relate directly to the theme of the song; “that’s the thing about the way we perceive time, there’s no going back through doors once they're closed.” The final thought to ponder will shake your life if you stick around long enough to hear it; a perfect ending for a track like this.

In back to back songs, Healy finds his perfect stride with good vibes and fun energy maintaining his deep lyrical style, continually dropping pieces to the puzzle that will eventually be his album, leaving fans wanting more and more with each release.
