Happy Nuance Friday! We hope Autumn is greeting you well and your playlists are keeping up with the seasons. If you find that those Summer jams are getting a bit stale, no need to fret because we got a slew of impressive new releases to sink your teeth into—with your ears—or your eyes, sometimes. Also, someone tell Billy Joe to get out of bed.

Drakeo The Ruler — Keep The Truth Alive

The late, legendary LA rapper Drakeo The Ruler’s first posthumous project, Keep The Truth Alive, releases today. Since his tragic, unsolved assassination in December of last year, Drakeo’s brother Ralfy the Plug has been keeping the Stinc Team alive with a slew of impressive projects this year. Keep The Truth Alive marks the first time Ralfy’s shared a full project from the apparently vast vault of Drakeo’s unreleased projects and is a bittersweet testament to why The Ruler is one of the most exciting, unique voices to come out of LA in decades.

Freddie Gibbs — $ouls $old $eparately

Arguably the best MC today, Gary, Indiana’s-own Freddie Gibbs releases new LP $ouls $old $eparately—delivering both his patented flow mastery while diving into deeper, introspective waters, with features from Pusha-T, Raekwon, Musiq Soulchild, and Kelly Price, and production from Madlib, DJ Dahi, The Alchemist, Boi-1da and KAYTRANADA and more.

Kid Cudi — Entergalactic

Kid Cudi releases companion album and animated Netflix special Entergalactic–a 90-minute new offering from Mr. Rager with features from 2 Chainz, Pusha-T, and Don Tolliver, with voice-acting performances on the special from Cudi, Jessica Williams, and Timothée Chalamet, while Ty Dolla $ign appears on both.

Maude Latour – 001

Rising Swedish alt-pop star Maude Latour releases her highly anticipated 7-track debut 001—mixing a knack for stripped-back melodies and striking imagery to form a compelling, new voice in the genre.
