London-born R&B star Col3trane shares new dynamic track “Simp,” the first single off upcoming project due for release this April. The track displays an exciting sonic progression since his debut project Lush Life, with Col3trane sharing romantic lyrics with smooth vocals over a late-night dance groove featuring swooning reversed chords and valleys of reverb.
While the term “Simp '' is predominantly looked at as a negative term, Col3trane’s new track aims to normalize it and tell the world “It doesn’t make you less of a man or woman. It takes courage to love.” While his sound is grounded in something contemporary and new, the romantic inspiration and meaning behind his music call back to the vulnerability of throwback R&B.
