the Los Angeles-based sibling duo Cones, founded by brothers Jonathan and Michael Rosen, Released their new track "Big Bad," the second single off their upcoming album Almanac.

"I wrote ‘Big Bad’ at the start of the pandemic,” explains Jonathan Rosen. “At the time, I was listening to a lot of Cleaners From Venus and watching a lot of Buffy. Just like most people, I was stuck in my home, where each day stretched into its own small eternity. A vampire is an infected creature, forced into an eternity of solitude - it seemed like a perfect analog to our collective fears of contagion and isolation. We recorded the basic tracks live at Michael's LA studio Honeymoon Suite, which was the first time I got to see people other than my brother in months. The saxophone (recorded in Australia by Zach Stolz) screeches like the brakes of a Cadillac, its melodic contortions perfectly capturing everything we hoped to convey in the song."

Cones also announced that their upcoming album Almanac would be released on August 5th, 2022. So far, the band has released "Big Bad" and "Malice Palace," the album's first single.

"Malice Palace" is built from mind-blowing synthesizers, enthusiastic melodies, and bold guitar production, topped with highly energetic lyrics, all combined together to make a uniquely vibrant sound that is perfect for a late-night party. Jonathan Rosen of Cones describes "Malice Palace" as a gothic blue kingdom where your anxieties live, only found late at night with your mind on a pillow.”

Throughout the upcoming album Almanac, cones capture all the colors and experiences they have been through in the pandemic, which promised to be a great fit for a warm evening with friends or an exciting pop-up party on the weekend.
