Kid Cudi Does What He Wants in Latest Single

Written by: David Williams

Scott Mescudi is strapping on the space suit once again and launching us out into the great beyond with his latest single “Do What I Want.” This is his first song off his forthcoming album Entergalactic which happens to have the same name as his upcoming animated show on Netflix set to debut in the fall. A teaser trailer was released last week displaying the incredible visuals and artwork associated with the new series with his new track in the background. His music is tailor-made for cinematic scenes think of George Clooney floating adrift in Gravity or Matt Damon loping around Mars in the Martian.

Produced by the duo Take a Daytrip who also had a hand in the production of seven of the songs on Cudi’s last album Man on the Moon III in 2020. The record has Scott’s signature trippy and psychedelic synths combined with the trap-inspired drums to make a song you could put anywhere on the first half of his last critically acclaimed LP.
