Teddy Swims is a well known cover artist, who has covered both recent and older tracks through platforms such as Spotify, Youtube, and Instagram. His latest cover song dates from over nine years ago. Teddy Swims sings a cover of the most popular song from Canadian artist Shania Twain’s album, Come On Over, “You’re Still The One”. Teddy honors this track by keeping it close to the original, but personalizes it by including his own subtle additions. Much like the original version, Teddy Swims has an organ piano that he combines with a keyboard synth, which gives the track an early 2000’s nostalgic vibe. In the original track, Shania was mainly accompanied by the acoustic guitar, which is not only in Teddy Swims’ cover, but he adds in a more melodic and modern keyboard. He also layers his voice throughout the track to make his voice sound airy and dominant. Teddy Swims version of “You’re Still The One” is just as heartfelt and warm as the original, though his own subtle arrangement makes the track truly unique.
