On March 19, 2021, Clay “Krucial” Perry III released his latest album, If We Must Die. Clay combines lively beats and dreamy melodies to create a sound that is unique and vibrant. Clay said in an interview for Daily Gems the album is about his experience as an artist needing to keep fighting. If We Must Die features collaborations with Tay Keith, Lil Migo, Trippie Redd, and BlocBoy JB.

The Memphis-born rap artist got his start in music as a part of the rap group The Academy and began recording his own music a few years after the group split up. After gaining recognition and acclaim for his sound from other artists, Clay started working as an engineer for artists like Rico Nasty, Yo Gotti, NBA Youngboy, and BlocBoy JB, among others. Eventually, Clay dropped out of school to pursue both his solo and engineering career full time. Clay has since earned praise for his fresh, versatile sound. In the coming months, Perry is an artist to keep an eye on as he keeps rising the ranks of the rap game.
