Charlotte Lawrence just released a heartbroken bop that will give those dealing with heartbreak some relief. The Los Angeles native released a subtle but more relaxed remix of “Slow Motion” on October 2. This version was produced with Johan Lenox, a brilliant writer and producer, who has previously worked with artists such as Kayne West and Vic Mensa. This stripped back version of this song will give any listener a shoulder to cry on.

Charlotte Lawrence is notoriously known for her songs “Why Do You Love Me” with more than 30 million streams on Spotify and appeared on the Birds of Prey soundtrack “Joke’s On You.” Lawrence is added with artists Doja Cat to Rico Nasty on the femme empowered soundtrack

The singer gets personal with “Slow Motion,” a tune for a heavy-hearted ballad. While the first version is more electro-pop influenced, the remix evolves the song into a deeper layer of vulnerability wrapping over you. The angelic stylings of the song matches the heavy loaded lyrical content with the beautiful addition of the piano. The LA based artist makes it clear that it’s best to move on, whether relationship or friendship, it’s about recognizing the healing process and moving on.

The lingering of feelings can be heard within the final moments of the song. “I know I'll be moving on / In slow motion” expresses her final goodbye to the relationship in a gentle vibrato. The original version was written by Lawerance, Andrew Watt, Jason Evigan and Ali Tamposi and produced by Watt and Evigan. Lawrence is an artist ahead of her time combining meaningful lyrics draped in dark aesthetics and matched sick beats. Her single is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube and Tidal.
