Carter Reeves' New Single "Homestretch" is Surf Rock Soul Food.

By Brendan Hayes

Carter Reeves went from the frontman of the duo, Aer, to releasing surf songs that alleviate the soul. After a jam-packed 2019 and a slew of 2020 singles, Carter has paired up with one of our favorites, Dreamerbob, and Justin Lucas to deliver a much-welcomed single titled "Homestretch"! The song delivers undulating guitar riffs that disarm dangerous moods and replaces them with jubilance. Inject an airy pad and an avant-garde drumline for an enduring track. It’s one that’ll surely continue to surge in popularity as the summer season approaches. The surf rock ballad is also a handsomely crafted narrative. The lyrics are a memo to a lover who has no idea that Carter is about to knock on their door. The outro serves as Carter's clock that steadily ticks down until he is finally entangled in bed with his sweetheart. The accompanying visual perfectly aligns with the story, and we look forward to more releases from Mr. Reeves.
