Happy Nuance Friday! The summer is in full swing, and we hope it’s greeting you with a breeze. While you may have heard a lot about that expensive toy commercial or “yeah, he might be a bad person…but look at that explosion!” biopic coming out this weekend, make no mistake, there’s also a plethora of great new music to check out, and today we’ve gathered some of our favorites to enjoy in the shade. 

Briston Maroney – “Detonator / The Idea”

Nashville singer/songwriter Briston Maroney shares new double-sided single “Detonator / The Idea.” The third release from his upcoming Ultrapure LP sees the former Nuance Cover Artist take on his vulnerability head-on, displaying an emotional maturation in his lyrics that matches the progression of his distinct, homemade indie sound. While his music feels personal and humble, Maroney sets himself apart with his ability to hold down a massive crowd, and he’s gearing up for a long-awaited Red Rocks Amphitheatre performance supporting Noah Kahan next week.

Alternative Rap pioneers Paris, Texas, release their highly-anticipated debut album MID AIR– a one-of-a-kind thrill ride that splits the difference between alternative rock and contemporary hip-hop with its mix of angsty guitars and raging 808s. The Los Angeles duo prove their potential with urgency and charisma by anchoring the unique sound palette with their urgent flows and skewed sense of humor.
